Girls Inc. of TN Valley, formerly known as Girls Club, first began in 1976 as girls only sports program. Initiated by strong community advocates, Girls Inc. then quickly grew into an after school, outreach program, summer camp, break camp and sports program for girls ages 5-18 years old! Girls Inc. opened a campus in Oak Ridge in 2000 to include a full center for girls, sports fields and more. Girls Inc. has grown to become an integral part of the Anderson, Knox and Blount County communities in this time serving over 1,100 girls per year. We have successfully and genuinely benefited thousands of girls’ lives throughout the past 40+ years!
A Message from our Executive Director:
We have always known that being a part of a community like Girls Inc. is special. This community allows for a safe space for girls to be themselves, develop strong relationships with their peers and mentors, and develop an enhanced educational experience. I feel better knowing that despite the hardships that we are all facing in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this has not changed.
Girls Inc. is continuing to serve the girls and families of our community in a variety of traditional, virtual, and emergency need programs to ensure that the needs of our community are met. If you are looking for after school care, virtual programming, tutoring, or emergency need items, we encourage you to call our main office at 865-482-4475 for more information on programming or access to resources.
Thank you for your continued involvement and support of Girls Inc.!
Sincerely,
Kirby Deal
Executive Director
